Is your outgoing mail not going out?

email

Changing your SMTP port to 587 can get your email flowing again.

Blocked Outgoing Email

Some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have instituted anti-spam policies and settings that blocks outbound mail. This may be occurring locally for some CenturyLink customers and will likely affect you when traveling or using public wireless connections.

If your outgoing email sent through indigo8 Internet/Downtown Web Hosting stops working (but your incoming mail still works fine), the ISP you are using is probably blocking your outgoing mail connections. The fix is to change your email program outgoing mail settings as explained below.

Alternate Settings:

Simply put, you need to change your outgoing mail (SMTP) port from “25″ to our alternate port of “587″. Your mail server name will remain “mail.yourdomain.com.” (ISPs only block port 25, not port 587). Detailed instructions for making this on several common mail programs follows.
